DearSir—IbegleaveinthewarmestmannertoremendtoyournoticeMr.Moxon,theBearerofthis,ifbyanychanceyourselfshouldwantasteadyhandinyourbusiness,orknowofanyPublisherthatmaywantsuchaone.HeisatpresentinthehouseofMessrs.LongmanandCo.,wherehehasbeenestablishedformorethansixyears,andhastheconductofoneofthefourdepartmentsoftheCountryline.AdifferencerespectingSalary,whichheexpectedtobealittleraisedonhislastpromotion,makeshimwishtotrytobetterhimself.Ibelievehimtobeayoungmanofthehighestintegrity,andathoroughmanofbusiness;andshouldnothavetakenthelibertyofremendinghim,ifIhadnotthoughthimcapableofbeinghighlyuseful.
